    Backlink

A link from another website that points to your website. These are like votes of confidence from other sites and help search engines decide how important your site is.

Backlinks are links that connect one website to another. When Website A includes a link that leads to Website B, that's a backlink for Website B. Search engines view these links as recommendations, suggesting that the linked content is valuable and trustworthy. The more quality backlinks your site has, the more search engines will trust it. Not all backlinks are equal. Links from respected, relevant websites (like major news outlets or industry leaders) carry more weight than links from small, unrelated, or low-quality sites. A single backlink from a highly trusted website can be worth more than dozens from lesser-known sites. Quality matters much more than quantity. Building backlinks takes time and effort. Good ways to earn backlinks include creating helpful content others want to reference, guest posting on other blogs, listing your business in directories, and building relationships with other website owners. Avoid buying links or using link schemes, as these can lead to penalties from search engines.
