Algorithm Update
A change made by search engines to how they rank websites. These updates affect which websites show up first when people search for something online.
Search engines like Google regularly change their rules for deciding which websites appear at the top of search results. These changes are called algorithm updates. They happen to make search results more helpful and to fight against websites that try to cheat the system. Major updates often have names, like "Penguin" or "Panda." When an update happens, some websites may suddenly appear higher in search results, while others might drop down. This can greatly affect how many visitors a website gets, which is why website owners pay close attention to these updates. To stay safe during algorithm updates, focus on creating helpful content for real people, not just for search engines. Websites that provide valuable information and good user experiences usually benefit from updates, while those using tricks to rank higher often get penalized.
